I've become quite a fan of this author's work. I always feel like his books are almost otherworldly, as though set in a world similar to this one, yet slightly removed. ( I mean that in a very good way.) This one is firmly in our world, which I loved. I recently read that every writer should follow this motto: Make the reader care. I cared about Laureth and Benjamin from the first sentence and couldn't put it down. Literally, I read this in one sitting.
